Meet Trailblazer Kacey Coppola Morreale, Kate Coppola Leiva, and Kara Coppola Schmahl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kacey Coppola Morreale, Kate Coppola Leiva, and Kara Coppola Schmahl.

Kacey, Kate, and Kara, please share your story with us.
I started The Daily Soul Sessions with my sisters, Kate and Kara. Our mission is to offer a consistent – and short! – daily practice for moms to come back to themselves and find creativity and inspiration through the grind of motherhood. We do this through our books (The Daily Soul Sessions For Every Mama and The Daily Soul Sessions For The Pregnant Mama), our 30 Day Journaling Challenge for Moms, local mom’s night out events, and, of course, our tribe on social media. We truly believe that we are the first role models for our kids. If we don’t show them how to dream, how to stay true to themselves, and how to choose joy every time… who will?

My twin sister, Kate, and I have been singer/songwriters and recording artists for over 15 years! Our daily songwriting turned into daily soul sessions while we were pregnant, and thus – the first book was born!

Has it been a smooth road?
The highs aren’t the highs without the lows, right? Following a passion or being an entrepreneur comes with a lot of failures. But, we look at failure as the necessary step to success! You don’t really fail if you never give up.

Before we had kids, we certainly had more time to create and write at any point during the day. So time management is now our biggest struggle! But honestly, being creative and working on books and journaling challenges and writing songs inspires us to be better moms. So, our advice for others is finding a routine that works for you and stick with it! You have to be disciplined enough to find the small snippets of time to work and be creative. For us, as a stay at home mamas, it’s nap time, bedtime, etc. Don’t feel guilty to ask for (or pay for!) help along the way!

It’s also never too early or late to start something. JUST START! Dreams you didn’t even know you had will start to manifest as you take that first step toward a passion you have. We highly recommend writing every day – even if you’re not a writer. Putting down your thoughts on paper and getting all the cobwebs out of your brain get you to all the good, creative, inspired stuff!

We’d love to hear more about The Daily Soul Sessions.
Our Daily Soul Sessions Series consists of 2 books and 1 journaling challenge so far! If you read our books every day, you WILL be a happier, more inspired and creative mama! The books are available on Amazon, and The Daily Soul Sessions For Every Mama book is 365 inspirations – one for each day of the year. Each soul session helps you to wake up in the morning and take a few minutes to yourself to set your day moving in a positive, creative, and joyful direction!

The Daily Soul Sessions For The Pregnant Mama book consists of 280 soul sessions – one for each day of the crazy, wild ride called pregnancy. Pregnancy is not new to the world, but it is new to YOU when you’re the one expecting! This book helps mamas-to-be to stay mindful, to stay positive, and to remember who they are during this time of great change.

Our 30 Day Journaling Challenge for Moms is available on Etsy as a printable download. And it is truly life changing. Writing every day has been proven to relieve stress and anxiety, and it benefits physical health as well. If we take a little time each morning to write and just get through the cobwebs in our brains, that’s when we can get to the good stuff! The creative stuff. We can rediscover our dreams and goals – we can remember the woman we are underneath the label “mom”.

We are so proud of the fact that we’ve published 2 books, and, of course, being featured here on the amazing VoyageLA! We are all about creating roots and relationships within our community and helping other moms do that too. So, every time one of our books finds its way into the hands of a new mom, we feel blessed to be a part of her journey.

Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
We love Rachel Hollis’s podcast Dais. It’s very inspiring, and she always interviews someone (usually a woman) who has great tips and helpful advice for female entrepreneurs. I’m also a big fan of Lewis Howes

There are honestly WAY too many books to list! But a few current favs: She Means Business by Carrie Green, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, and anything by Gabrielle Bernstein.

I love Melyssa Griffin’s blog – It has tons of great tips on your website and blog. Jenna Kutcher’s blog is awesome, too.

And for the avid readers out there, you have to subscribe to Bookbub! They send you book suggestions based on authors and genres you like. You can also follow your favorite authors and they’ll let you know when their books are on sale so you can scoop ’em up!
