Meet Chef Tawanna Wells of T’s Tasty Treats & Catering in Culver City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Tawanna Wells.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey started when I was pregnant with my daughter a Culinary school commercial came on and I said to myself I think I would like to go to Culinary school. After I gave birth to my daughter decided to go enroll in Culinary school and my classes began a few months after.

I always cooked with my mom and auntie when I was younger. So, after Culinary school I began working various jobs in the cooking industry. After several years I decided I wanted my own business. It hasn’t been easy, but doing what you love is always a joy. I am still growing every day.

Has it been a smooth road?
This road has not been easy. As a matter of fact there is still a struggle with trying to have a steady client base. There is so much competition out there, but I will never stop. The key is to get that one customer/client that will take you to that next level. When that happens things will flow a bit easier. But, for now I will continue to keep moving forward.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
T’s Tasty Treats and Catering specializes in all food, but we are known for American Comfort food. We make savory and sweet food. We believe in uplifting and helping others when we can.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles/Culver city is competitive. For someone starting out you have to build up your client base. The competition can be intense. But, if you stay on course you can make it. Keep God first and everything else will follow.
