Meet Tai Eiland of PurpL & Prosper in Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tai Eiland.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My intense love for skincare started in 2006 when I became a licensed esthetician. I started PurpL & Prosper, formerly known as PurpL Goat, in response to my own skin ailments back in 2015. Suffering with severe cystic acne for over ten years led me to take a deeper look at what I was applying to my skin, putting into my body and what I was allowing to consume my mind – and how it may have been affecting the quality of my skin. It’s all connected!

The line is based around my belief in full-spectrum healing. The ingredients are non-toxic, and 80 percent of the line is food grade. Gentle yet extremely effective ingredients that cultures have incorporated for centuries. Every product contains a special affirmation that I personally use daily, upon waking up.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m a firm believer in flowing and not forcing; and a mindset of abundance over scarcity. There may have been a few situations that didn’t pan out the way I had anticipated at the time, however, the line has flourished beautifully – and at the perfect pace.

Please tell us about PurpL & Prosper.
PurpL & Prosper is a full range of natural, non-toxic skincare and body care items. We have face washes, crystal-infused toner, treatment mask’, serums, natural deodorant and we even have a crystal-infused bath soak created for the health of the yoni.

After four years of growth, I am still a one-woman show. I formulate the items, package, handle marketing & customer care and package the wholesale and retail orders. This aspect of my business is what I hold the most pride in. I am a firm believer in energy – and I know that there is nothing but positive energy going into every detail of my business.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood was playing “spa” with my friends. We would set up our space with candles, meditation music, apply peel-off facial mask and makeup. I loved everything girly! It seems as though my childhood self was very much aligned with my adult self lol.
