Meet T.Oak$

Today we’d like to introduce you to T.Oak$.

T.Oak$, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always loved to perform in front of a crowd, whether that was my own family or at school. From the time I was old enough to talk and walk, I was making up raps and learning all of the newest dances.

I’m a San Diego native, born and raised and I realized my calling to be an entertainer during live performances in front of my high school student body. That then turned to performing live for many schools across Southern California, then clubs, then concert venues.

From there, it’s history.

Has it been a smooth road?
For any person starting up a career or brand from scratch, it can be tough at the beginning–especially if you’re working alone.

Managing finances to pay for studio time, finding your sound and targeting your fan base, booking shows…etc. It’s all a learning process and part of the job becoming a good artist.

I’m constantly working on my skills and craft to appeal to all tastes.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a hip-hop and R&B music artist and entertainer.

I describe my music as fun, feel-good and sexy. My newest single, “YOU,” is the perfect combination of all three. It’s available now on all music platforms! It’s super dope people have also created a #YouDanceChallenge on TikTok to the song.

What sets me apart from other artists is that I have a lot of creative vision. I’ve directed all of my music videos since day one. It’s the best feeling seeing my visions come to life. When I’m recording in the studio, I already envision what I want the visuals to look like.

I’m most proud of myself for making the move from my hometown of San Diego to Los Angeles to pursue my career.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing about LA to me is Hollywood in general.

It’s the city of the stars; It’s good to be in a place where almost everyone has the same goals and aspirations. I know the competition is stiff but it makes me want to go harder.
Competition isn’t everything though, I’m always looking to connect and collaborate with other artists.

I keep my guard up in certain situations–You have to as an artist. You never know who’s real or fake in or outside of your circle. I keep that in mind.
