Meet Sydney Kramer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Kramer.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sydney. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In August of 2017, I moved to Los Angeles immediately after my sister got married. I had no job lined up. No auditions. I only had a bunch of luggage with me and an apartment that was waiting for me. My first year in LA was not easy in anyway. I had gone through job interview after job interview, audition after audition, the list can go on. But I managed to make it easy somehow in unique ways. One of my first jobs in LA was an audience filling job where I would sit in the audience of different shows and that helped me get by for a bit. Not even a year after I arrived, I started to network much more than I had before by joining different Facebook groups and joining Central and La Casting to help get more acting and production gigs. Turns out, it was the best choice to join all those groups which led me to get gigs involving music videos, television shows, commercials and some films. I figured the more people I network with the more job opportunities that will come my way, both in front of the camera and behind the camera. Here I am two and a half years later after first arriving in La La land and I am one more step ahead each day to reaching my dreams.

Has it been a smooth road?
Like every other person trying to make it in the film industry, it hasn’t been easy. There were days I was close to getting a job and that someone else would get it with more experience which has happened a lot unfortunately. But luckily, I have had my family for emotional support every time I am down about losing a job or something not working out. Whenever I am a down about something that doesn’t work out, they always say if something falls apart that means something better is coming along. And they are always right. There are some days that are better than most and there are some months that are better than most as well. In the end, we all have to get by day by day in order to reach our dreams.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I finally have an agent for acting so hopefully that will open more doors for me in the present and future. Also, I hope to get into casting as well since I have a knack for noticing/ pointing out people that would stand out in a role or audition for a role as well. Hopefully once this Pandemic is over, I’ll be networking with different producers/ directors which will mean more work and bigger projects that will be coming my way in the future.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next decade, there will be more streaming services which will mean more jobs for both actors and production people. Movie theaters will still be around since there are certain kinds of productions that can be appreciated only on the big screen. Television will still exist like it has in the last seven decades. So the more productions there are with films, television, and streaming services, the more chances people will have to create their own stories and show them to the world. Leading to more work for everyone.
