Meet Stacy Serrano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Serrano.

Hi Stacy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I originally was born in Costa Rica and when I turned 7 years old I came to the US and lived in Florida for almost all my life. Throughout my whole life in Florida, I noticed that was different from my family and friends and always wanted bigger things in life than just a family and a normal career. I was an artist and I would paint, draw my life away all the time, and then I stumbled into the world of makeup. I got so invested in learning everything there is to learn about makeup that I would wake up every day at 4 am and practice and practice and practice till I became so knowledgeable and mastered it.

Through the learning process, I decided to Market myself at school and get all the girls to hire me for the next dance and to my surprise everyone hired me! I charge about $15 a person and had little knowledge on how to run a business I just told everyone to come at whatever time they please. The next thing you know I have 30 plus people in my house waiting for me to do their makeup, I was so excited but so stressed out at the same time. Once I completed the job I was exhausted but I looked over to my mother and gave her a little smirk I said “I want to do this all the time”, that’s the moment I found my passion. Over time I started charging more and getting even more clientele than everyone in school and my hometown knew me as Stacy Serrano the makeup artist.

A year or two after, I fell out of love because it felt like everyone wanted the same look over and over and I no longer felt creative. Then one night my mother introduced me to a show named ” Face Off ” which is a show full of SFX makeup artists that created the most amazing creatures and looks ever. All I had to do was take a look at one episode and I fell in love next thing you know I’m back in my A-game learning and practicing a whole new skill so much to the point that stopped taking beauty clientele so I could perfect my skills. Then my goal slowly became planning to become an SFX artist for Film and television. For years I only did the most outrageous looks on myself and I loved every bit of crazy reaction I got from my family and friends, so much that it’s become like a drug I was addicted to and that’s all I could think about. Then I hit a pause, entering into a 3-year toxic relationship. I wasn’t myself, I gained so much weight and I become super depressed; I had officially become everything I never wanted to be.

Once the relationship came to an end and my heart was broken and I never looked back. I started working my heart out at the gym and at a high-paying corporate job. I ended up purchasing a brand new built home by the beach during the pandemic and even a brand new car, I was on top of the world. Then it hit me, all the money, the house, and the car did absolutely nothing for me because I wasn’t doing what I loved. So I decided that it was time for a change and I was willing to risk it all. At 4 am in the morning, I booked a one-way ticket to LA without telling a single soul and I left everything behind. I had absolutely no plan, just knew that this is what I was meant to do. For the first two months, I struggled, but I wasn’t going to let myself give up even if everyone kept on telling me to come back home.

All it took for me to completely change my life forever was I simply said to myself “NO ONE IS ABOVE ME”. I treated every influencer and every celebrity like normal people and I met a very special man who introduced me to some of the biggest people in LA, sooner or later I was invited to every exclusive event, and I was working on sets for film and television and everyone wanted to be my friend but not because of what I had but simply for who I was. Then I met another very special man, all he did was look at me and said you going to be very successful and 1 year later I’m Co CEO of two businesses and more to come. What you can take from my story is that ” No one is above you”.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was never a smooth road and it will never be for someone willing to risk it all. My struggles were anxious family and friends and, not having the full support, Meeting dirty people in the industry that didn’t want to see me win. Of course one of the biggest struggles of all temptations, EVERYWHERE!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Well if I told you that I’m a beauty and Sfx makeup artist that owns an online fitness program, a financial broker, a talent manager, and a Marketing freak would you believe me?

I think that alone would make me different, right?
