Meet Sherman Oaks Entrepreneur: Elia Monvel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elia Monvel.

Sherman Oaks has been blossoming into a hot spot over the last 10 years. Elia noticed that the valley was missing a really high end, modern themed salon that could offer the clientele the same experience as a Beverly Hills salon, without the price tag. That is how they began looking for the space that they now call home.

Let’s dig a little deeper into your story.  What was the hardest time you’ve had?

As far as my story goes, I had a rough start moving from Europe to LA because I had to start from scratch and struggle to find a way from the ground-up here. After a few years working here in Los Angeles, I had a strong desire to open a higher-end salon to create a different environment, elevating the level of hair care and service on the boulevard, with a vision for a modern gallery-style design. After opening the salon 10 years ago and working with Beverly style magazine, along with a couple celebrities – including Kathy Ireland – and some magazine covers, that was my turning point. That was the moment I really felt that I had made it.
