We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been many challenges: being new to an unknown industry, not having any connections in the publishing world, learning to build a brand and a business from scratch, and embracing my authentic self and being brave enough to share my heart with the world, to name a few.
I believe in infinite possibilities and feel determined to create a whimsical world that I want to be in where kids believe in themselves and really go for what they want in life while encouraging and empowering others to do the same. My passion for that dream is far larger than any fear that pops up along the way. I train myself to stay focused on the vision and to take action in the direction of that dream daily.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in rural Virginia where I had outlandish dreams of becoming a writer, a teacher, a mother, a princess and a mermaid. I longed to live in Southern California where I believed the magic would happen. I was always writing, drawing, playing, and creating little businesses for fun.
After grad school, I seized the opportunity to move to California and to climb the corporate ladder in online marketing. After over 12 years in that industry, I realized that the ladder I’d been climbing had been up against the wrong wall. Following some soul searching inspired by adversity on the job, I was inspired to write my first book, The Little Rose.
Over a year after I wrote the story, I decided to publish it as a children’s picture book. Within two weeks of release, The Little Rose became a #1 best-seller on Amazon and stayed at #1 for over 60 weeks, changing everything in my life for the better.
Everything great in my life has come from that moment of courage to share my story with the world — my books, my business, meeting and marrying my soulmate, and so much more. I’m so grateful to be living the life I dreamt about while I was growing up and helping others’ dreams come true in the process.
