Meet Shelley Gottlieb of Care for Cuties Pet Sitting Service in San Fernando Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelley Gottlieb.

Shelley, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have loved animals my whole life and always knew I wanted to work with them one day. I never really knew my niche with animals until I worked for a dog walking company back in 2007. I knew how much I loved it and thought it would be great to have my own company so I could do it full time. In 2008 I gave it a shot and have never looked back! By 2010 I was able to run my company and do it full time. It has truly been the best job I have ever had! I get to work with people’s awesome pets every day and I love it. It took a lot of determination and confidence that I could do this. When you set your mind to something, it is truly capable of anything. I have been very happy in this field and don’t plan on going anywhere. I have been going strong for the last 9 years since I started. I now continue to run my business and have 4 amazing dog walkers/pet sitters on the team.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting out was a bit overwhelming cause I didn’t know what I was doing. I have no experience in marketing and business and I am a pretty shy person. So it was difficult for me to be persistent and outgoing with people in order to build up clientele. I pushed myself and made it happen cause I really wanted this to work out. Now I am totally confident in what I do and feel in my heart that this is what I am supposed to be doing. That was always the most important thing to me.

Care for Cuties Pet Sitting Service – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We provide dog walking and pet sitting services for people that work long hours or need help with their pets when they go out of town. We do daily dog walking, visits to a client’s home to feed, walk, change litter, etc or do overnights in the client’s home. I feel that the main thing that sets us apart is our reliability, our trustworthiness and the fact that we are very responsible. I have heard a lot of stories from clients about other companies that they hired that turned out to be a nightmare and they always feel so calm and relieved when they meet with us. We are very proud of the fact that our clients feel so comfortable with us in taking great care of their beloved pets.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far is when after a lot of hard work and time put in, I was able to do my pet sitting business full time and quit my other job. It was a very fulfilling moment and I have never been this happy in any other job.
