Meet Sharnel Guy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharnel Guy.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sharnel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up with a passion for art and drawing. I went to high school where I took many art programs and was eventually accepted into the prestigious Las Vegas Academy school for performing arts. One day I was asked to design a friends prom dress where at the time I didn’t know how to sew. She took the dress I drew on paper to a seamstress where she had it made and brought to life. There was a contact made to Fashion Week Las Vegas about me where they asked me to be apart of the show. I agreed, completed 15 artistic swimwear designs and ever since I just kinda took off and continued my work and I corporates my business.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There were a lot of good days and there were definitely some bad. Just like any journey you have your rough days. Some of the struggles I face were theft of my designs and small manufacturing hiccups when I first started off. My designs weren’t the easiest for plants to develop for if I draw something on paper I puke it expect it to be exact but wasn’t always easy to develop in the beginning stages. But with professional expertise it always worked out.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sharnel Guy Swimwear – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I’m known for specializing In creative swimsuits and swim attire. I have now branched out into designing creative resort wear, men’s wear and dresses as well. I’m looking to expand my brand outside of swimwear where I can explore creating all types of garments while not losing the artistic aspect of the creation.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to develop a line catering to some of Hollywood’s elite clientele, continue building my brand and expanding it in various categories while offering different yet eye striking designs.
