Meet Sam Salk of Mobile Bridal Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Salk.

Sam, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Mobile Bridal Salon was one of those ideas that literally came to me in the shower. Here I was, a hair and makeup artist, working and advertising independently but was constantly asked by clients: “Who do you recommend for hair extensions? Or a spray tan?”

I had many stylist friends in the industry who were working just as hard as I was, and while referring them was no problem, I never knew if a bride was going to move forward with the recommendation or not. As a professional in this industry, working with people that you KNOW makes all the difference.

So I thought to myself… what can I do to bring my talents as well as others that I know and trust to not only guarantee working with people that were masters at their craft but also build a reputable and thriving brand?

Forward to 2013 and Mobile Bridal Salon was born. A one-stop-shop of pampering for a bride and her “I Do” crew. From booking to wedding day, a bride (and her crew) are treated to a unique and luxurious experience with personalized and professional services, as well as a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am the type of person that wants to do it all on her own. This was a struggle at the beginning of Mobile Bridal Salon, because I was needing to open up to other team members and ultimately trust that they were going to provide the level of service that I was used to providing to my clients. The biggest challenge was realizing that I did need the help (especially if I was going to build a multi-service brand) and actually asking for it.

I have been fortunate enough to have built an amazing team of people and have met some fantastic fellow wedding vendors along the way. Having a good team you can trust is key.

It is the backbone to any business. And making great connections in the industry you work in is what will keep it all going.

Mobile Bridal Salon – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Mobile Bridal salon changes the way brides prepare for their wedding day. The mobile salon creates a unique experience with services such as hair, make-up, skin care, haircuts, color and men’s grooming.

Instead of a bride attempting to find individuals to provide and schedule these services, the Mobile Bridal Salon team schedules all of these services with ease, while allowing the bride to choose from our team of professionals. Not only does the Mobile Bridal Salon provide all of these amenities, but also the comes to the bride, creating an easy and personalized environment.

The cherry on top: All of our brides receive a full-size lip gloss or lipstick to continue with touch ups throughout their special day.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I would say a proud moment of Mobile Bridal Salon would be landing on the cover of “I Do” Destination Magazine. To not only see your work come to life digitally but in print as well was inspiring, giddy – inducing, and overall exciting! … I may or may not have multiple copies of the magazine in my home 😉

Mobile Bridal Salon has allowed me to go beyond the bridal / wedding party realm. I am proud to say that I have added Nickelodeon to my client list and also being featured and supported by my local news team, KTLA.
