I had a dream 35 years ago, that I was walking through my neighborhood and I passed a porch where a senior citizen was sitting. I told him that I liked the glasses he was wearing, and he said: “Here, you can have these old focals” and handed me his glasses. I have been collecting NOS (new old stock) vintage eyewear ever since. As well as providing the majority of glasses and sunglasses seen in film and television (since the 80’s) through Old Focals studio services, I have two retail stores, one in Old Town Pasadena, and one in South Pasadena. I now offer Old Focals brand eyewear as well, which is vintage style, but slightly larger sizes than NOS vintage eyewear, and is available in both stores, and our website: oldfocals.com.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No different than any other small business stemming from an idea.

- We offer non-prescription lenses, between $25.00-$50.00
