Meet Rouha Sadighi of The Rooster in Venice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rouha Sadighi.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Rouha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a Los Angeles native, born-and-raised and I love this city. Coming from a Persian family background, my parents both cooked and we spent a lot of time around the kitchen table together, so for me food is what brings people closer. It’s something we can all bond over. I went to the Art Institute of California-Los Angeles and from there I went on to be the pastry chef at Joe’s Restaurant in Venice which was a 1-Michelin Star restaurant and from there I moved on the RockSugar Pan and helped open Thomas Keller’s Bouchon in Beverly Hills at the same time. I was then invited to appear on Food Network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen” and won! After cruising from New York City to Los Angeles working at really great, high-end restaurants I decided it was time to open The Rooster as a food truck in my hometown. And now, just a few years after opening the food truck, we are opening our first brick-and-mortar location!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’d say besides financial consciousness, the hardest part is patience. You are constantly trying to coordinate with multiple people, in situations where the content is not your forte and you just have to keep going and be patient and know that it’s all going to happen. It forces you to go through the process more than you may want to.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Rooster – what should we know?
At The Rooster, we specialize in bringing people together through good food. Guests will find a variety of kick-ass breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and tacos with the eggs cooked perfectly every time, which we are extremely proud of – because there is nothing better than an egg made right. We keep our menu items simple and delicious and that is what our guests love about us. They can rely on their breakfast being made the same way every time, to their liking. While all our items are pretty popular, the Rico Suave is a crowd favorite. It’s made with egg, bacon, tater tots, avocado, a cheddar & cojita cheese blend, Molcajete salsa, cilantro crema all bundled in a flour tortilla – so good!
