Today we’d like to introduce you to Rahim Siddiq.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Rahim. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
As a photographer, my dream was to photograph intimate parts of peoples lives with the most artistic and creative style as possible.
With more than four years of wedding photography experience, I decided to collaborate with a collective of creative individuals dedicated in providing an artistic approach of wedding photojournalism in the Muslim community. Most south-Asian and Muslim weddings tend to have a very similar look all around.
Our team at Visual Artistry comes together to provide that candid, raw and loving memory that everyone deserves to have on their wedding day. We consider ourselves to be artists who just so happen to know a thing or two about a camera.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely has been some hiccups and bumps. One of the struggles that we faced was not being able to meet the demand for our services. Since we are a small group of collectives, we had to turn down clients and couples due to double bookings. Moving forward, we are hiring additional artists in the area to help meet the demand that best represents our quality and services.
Please tell us about Visual Artistry Collective.
As a wedding film and photo production company, we work as a team to offer professional services that tell your love story. We consider ourselves to be artists who just so happen to know a thing or two about a camera.
Our medium is photography and videography. By infusing our creativity and artistic originality into our work, we provide our clients with gorgeous images they’ll cherish forever. We specialize in minority communities specifically, Muslim and South-Asian communities.
We understand cultural traditions and uphold that with the highest regard. With all the terrible stereotypes that are associated with Muslims, we want to break out of that box the media has put us in and show that love exists. Our style of wedding photojournalism and artistry within the Muslim wedding industry is what we strive for.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Favorite memory from childhood would have to be when I first learned how to ride a bike. The thrill of being able to balance yourself on a bike with no training wheels was a risk and adventure of emotions.
That process took weeks and months to be able to handle. With support from my parents and my neighborhood friends, I soon was riding my own bike around the neighborhood.
