Rachelle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my career in the beauty industry in 2007 as a Makeup Artist. Not knowing this would become my passion and my future, I was presented with so many great opportunities that I could not pass up. Out of high school, my mother was adamant about me going to college so I studied Psychology with emphasis on Child Development and Women’s Studies. I received my Bachelor’s Degree while still working as a makeup artist for cosmetic brands such as NARS, MAC, Sephora and Anastasia Beverly Hills.
I never thought the beauty industry would get me this far and even more, I never thought I’d start my own business. My last employment with Anastasia Beverly Hills as an Educator was what inspired me to start Cosmetic Tattooing and focus heavily on brows. I’ve always been so eager to learn new things so I went back to school to receive my Esthetician’s License and attended several courses to learn microblading/cosmetic tattoo.
It has now been a little over two years since I opened up Wildflower Beauty + Brows and I’ve never been so passionate about seeing something grow that I’ve worked so hard on.
Has it been a smooth road?
Being a business owner is a piece of cake! Not! I am one person under Wildflower Beauty + Brows. I perform the services, from makeup, cosmetic tattooing and esthetician services to answering phone calls and emails as well as creating my website and marketing my business. It is not easy. Let’s be real, just like any business you will come across unhappy customers and those are the ones that really hurt my heart. Because I’m so passionate about what I do, I’m always going above and beyond to make my clients happy. So when I come across one unhappy client (which doesn’t happen very often), it truly does hurt my heart. I get super bummed out and I question myself over and over, “how could I have done that differently?” I’ve learned and I’m still learning that sometimes you can’t always make everyone happy.
With how dedicated I am about my business, I sometimes forget to balance work and my personal life. I find myself answering emails at 3am when I’m unable to sleep and then I get sucked into the rabbit hole with researching new techniques, tools and anything that can help me grow as an artist. I pretty much get obsessed to a point where I dream about hair patterns or someone’s bone structure. Who can relate?

Wildflower Beauty + Brows specializes in makeup, cosmetic tattooing (microblading, microshading, powder brows, lip blush), brow waxing, brow tint/brow henna, brow lamination and lash lifts. I am proud of my background in the beauty industry and degree in Psychology where I am able to utilize everything I’ve learned into my business. Every client I meet is a friend. I love getting to know my clients and their stories.
I’m also very passionate about education and educating my client so they’re able to take home what they’ve learned and implement it into their daily routine. From shaping their brows to highlight and contour, I want them to be able to feel confident in themselves whether it be their balanced microbladed brows or knowing how to shape their brows with brow products.

I love how eclectic and diverse Long Beach is. Long Beach is one of a kind and it is growing with other vibrant artists and business owners. I love the culture, the community and everything in between.
