Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Morris.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, I remember seeing his mother light candles around the house frequently and grew fond of the candle making business at an early age. Often times waking up to the strong smell of what seemed like exotic fruit when I was a kid and the memorable smell of Sage and Lavender as I fell asleep, I found peace in candles. My mother used to say that ” when you light a candle you set a mood for that portion of your home”. I never forgot this and continued to light candles throughout my adult years. After surviving Hurricane Katrina, I relocated to Oakland, CA and fell in love with the culture and vibrance of the city. It was there that he decided to create his candle line and ultimately how the ‘PM’ brand came to life. Once the pandemic first started, I was bored in the house and decided to start my own candle line, I’ve been in business for about two years or so.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a pleasant journey. I’ve been learning everything from the ground up and continue to do so. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my incredible team and supporters, who, quite honestly, make my life a little simpler. I had the most difficulty with marketing because I was either focused on manufacturing the things, shipping, or forgetting to publish and promote, lol.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a candle company, or should I say fragrance company, at this time. However, I specialize in candles, which you can light for 30 minutes to an hour and have your house smelling wonderful both while they’re burning and before they are even lit. I’m recognized for being an entrepreneur in general, but I also host events on YouTube (kuwpatrick brunch). Right now, the thing I’m most proud of is my desire and capacity to keep going!
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
To begin, I had an idea, and I was able to leave my 9-5 job and work really hard, believing my approach and placing my faith in myself.
