Meet Nancy Mogy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Mogy.

Nancy Mogy is a hardworking effervescent individual with talents in public speaking, acting, comedy, hosting, acting, and inspiring others. Nancy has used her humble beginnings in the foster system to cultivate her talents and passion for entertaining and inspiring others. From failing classes to becoming a Forbes 30 under 30 scholar she is a leading example of how it does not matter where one starts, only where they plan to go from there. It is not every day you will find someone that can make you laugh, engage a crowd, has a passion for philanthropy work, and is one of the hardest workers you’ll ever meet.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Growing up, my life was filled with uncertainties and trauma. I grew up with a mentally unstable mother who was abusive physically and emotionally. I was starved as a child to fulfill my mom’s eating disorder that she placed on to me and suffered from molestation from a family member until I was 13. My mom being a prostitute left me constantly being alone and neglected or to be watched by random men my mom let into our home. Despite these trials, at 13 I was placed in the foster system and after six years of dealing with social workers, court dates, and trauma intensive therapy, I was adopted at 17 years old and have dedicated my life to pursuing a career in the entertainment business where I can use my platform and passion for humor to work with at-risk youth and others who have faced struggles similar to mine.

Nancy Mogy – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As I am still in college, I have been a freelance emcee/host where I am constantly reaching out to people to speak at events and offer my services. I was just hired by VOX DJ’s and hope to grow with them and host more events once quarantine ends! I also have been filmed in commercials, done modeling work, and been a part of YouTube videos where I share my story! I have a lot of passions and try to keep myself busy so when I leave college, I can find an agent and manager to help me reach my full potential with my talents.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have been easier on myself. We cannot control what happens to us in life only where we go from there. I blamed myself for my Depression and anxiety to the point where I was suicidal for years of my life. I can happily say now I have faced my demons and continue to share my story so others know they are not alone!
