Meet Miss Ellie Honeybee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miss Ellie Honeybee.

Miss Ellie Honeybee is a six years old kid cosplayer who has been cosplaying since the age of three. She started to cosplay for her love of ball gowns and being in front of the camera! Ellie is very shy and cosplay has helped her with being more outgoing with fellow cosplayers. She got her start at LACC & this year branched out to other conventions around Southern California!

Ellie picks all of her own cosplays! She started out cosplaying mostly princesses or girly characters. Slowly she has branched out to creepy or dark characters & she plays them very well! Ellie also has a few fairy godmothers to help her cosplay dreams come true!

Ellie loves making new friends, helping make new costumes & walking around the convention floor! She has a lot of big plans for all the conventions next year, even one con outside of California! Ellie has a lot of exciting cosplays planned including a Tinkerbell Group for LACC in October! She really loves the cosplay community & it’s amazing to see everyone so supportive of a young cosplayers dreams!

Has it been a smooth road?
There has been some struggles along the way but nothing Ellie hasn’t overcome! Starting out she didn’t have a lot of costume options & is very specific about being accurate! Thankfully her parents found some friends who were willing to help make her costumes & help her cosplay dreams come true! Another struggle was/is being shy. Ellie has been bullied in school & a result of that has shut down at times. At conventions, she comes to life and is able to express herself and not be judged! Any struggles she is faced with her family and friends are there to cheer her on.

What else should our readers know?
Ellie is really involved in the choosing of her costumes & details going into her cosplays. She likes to think outside the box or try costumes ideas to be original to set her apart from everyone else. Ellie is only six years old but definitely beyond her years. Whenever she puts on a new cosplay she completely becomes that character, personality and all! Recently Ellie has been more involved in directing short videos at conventions with her friends & the results are adorable! She is most proud of how her costumes come together in the end & seeing her vision come to life with everyone’s help.

There definitely a lot of opportunities & amazing connections you can make in the cosplay community in Southern California. Ellie started out and continues to cosplay because it makes her happy. Any opportunities that come out of cosplaying are just a bonus adventure Ellie and her family get to go on.
