Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Suede.
Mike, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started off as a podcast to be able to express our opinion and showcase local talent/music. After a couple of dry runs, as a collective, we knew so many people who were trying to get creative movements – community causes or small businesses off the ground. We began to focus on that, and hence The Lokel (local) Show was born.
Lokel is how it’s spelled in the dictionary. From there we got knee deep in our local communities, assisting with pop events, community service, working with the County, throwing our own events and now working with small businesses with branding, content, and marketing.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not, the entrepreneur world is the hardest road to travel, change is the only constant. We’ve had to learn and create processes, add members, lose members, adapt to roadblocks and how to focus in on our target audience. The high and lows are equal, but it’s the most rewarding road to walk.
Please tell us about The Lokel Show.
Our goal is to provide a platform for like-minded individuals to share their experiences so that there is an established sense of familiarity between our audience and those we interview, encouraging a personal aspect to the business. In doing so, we aim to bring the community together, playing a hand in fostering organic relationships between everyone involved, from commerce to consumer.
We’re proud of everything we do to help others and one of the most proudest moments is helping a small business called Cilantro Lime really catch consumers through social media marketing. It showed what we can do and how much people trust us. What sets us apart is our relationships, we truly build genuine relationships, and we work just as hard to build/maintain them.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is of my mom, her attending all my sporting games, she dealt with various mental issues while raising me but still showed me despite how hard it was her she was going to raise me right.
