Meet Michael Boyce

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Boyce.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m from a small town in Indiana so I was never introduced or even knew that I was a creative director/photographer/videographer/stylist; I was always into it though. All my friends were cute as hell and they would always have me style them and put them together. I would always have a disposable camera with me and take pictures of all my friends, I would walk to walgreens down the street from my house and pay the extra money to get the photos back in an hour. While I would wait, I would look at fashion magazines. I even remember as a kid, while riding in the car when songs played on the radio, I would zone out and visualize the music video in my head. I was always a hustler though just didn’t what my talent or my passion was until America’s next top model started coming on, It them clicked, I had my aha moment, I realized that is what I did and what I wanted to do. I found my passion at the age of 25 and bought my first camera and from then I never stopped no matter what happened.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth!!! Hell no lol, I’ve had so many ups and downs along the way from being flat broke at times, no clients, cameras getting stolen, almost as soon as I left Indiana and moved to Atlanta my eight years old son passed away, I literally wanted to give up on life but through prayer and faith I picked myself and used the pain from that as motivation to make my son proud.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I would consider myself a brand architect, I do visual branding and marketing, which includes photography, videography, creative directing, editing, set design, styling, I specialize in building brands from the ground up and turning them into multimillion dollar companies. I am most proud of my results and watching my clients come up and becoming known for their dope marketing and branding. What sets me apart from others is I never put myself in a box and called myself just a photographer, or videographer, or graphic designer, or stylist, I have a vision and I am able to create on all levels.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I most def am going to get into creating movies, shows and more. I also am getting into education and im in the process of creating a huge studio with numerous of different sets and a massive editing suite. I also have an online women’s store thats I’m about to turn the heat up on!
