Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Delgado.
Megan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My love for photography began when I was 14. I had recently been put into homeschool for medical reasons. I began using my extra time, and my mother’s camera, to take photographs of my baby cousin while she was at my house. I was so excited when people began telling me how great my photos were and I became even happier when my cousin’s mother thanked me for capturing such special moments. From there I never looked back and continued to practice photography. Learning only through experience and internet research, I’m completely self-taught. I recently made Holly D. Photography a reality at the beginning of this year!
Has it been a smooth road?
Luckily, I have had a pretty smooth road so far. I have gone through struggles every photographer has, perfecting lighting, ringing the best set-up, and picking the perfect equipment, but I also have had internal struggles. I struggle with the anxiety of giving every client perfect photos that they can cherish forever. These are, after all, some of their fondest memories.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Holly D. Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
My main focus as a photographer is family photography. I specialize in newborn to one year sessions, but I also photograph families, events, maternity, and more!
I make it my goal to give every client a session unique to them. It is important for me to bring their vision to life.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I hope in the future I’ll continue to grow my business and eventually become a traveling photographer. I’d also love to begin wedding photography soon. An ultimate future goal of mine would be to hold workshops so I can share which others what I’ve learned and help other photographers reach their full potential.
