Meet Marveina Peters of Teresa Peters Executive Realtors in Inglewood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marveina Peters.

Marveina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, with both parents being brokers I grew up learning the business of real estate and passive income through property investments. In 2008, I partner with my mom, Teresa Peters founder of Teresa Peters Executive Realtors, Inc right after my transition out of law enforcement. It was during my tenure as a police officer that I realized the demand of housing needs for victims of domestic violence (DV) and their kids. I’ve interviews thousands of DV victims and have personally testified and/or submitted investigative declarations of my findings to various courts as it pertains to domestic disputes. At every interview I would always ask the question to a victim, “Do you have a safe place you can go?” and almost always, the answer(s) were “No”. I knew my calling was to do my part as an investor to assist with the housing crisis specific to safe homes for victims of DV. Since 2008, I have been providing safe homes for victims across LA, San Bernardino and now Clark County.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, providing housing for low to mid class people is a struggle in itself. Many times, victims are solely dependent upon their abuser as the household financial provider. That being the case many times I’ll get referrals from families that don’t have a dollar but are in desperate need for a safe place to sleep if even for a few days. One of my major struggles along the way has been maintaining the privacy of each location and assuring suspects don’t find our victims. With kids flocking to social media as an outlet, locations settings on devices and cell phone tracking devices it’s getting harder and harder
