Meet Marta Miller of Lefty Production in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marta Miller.

Marta, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The Lefty Production Co. team has worked with designers, fashion brands and retailers of all varieties and sizes. We have worked for high fashion icons including Matthew Williamson, Rosetta Getty and Christian Siriano as well as retailers including Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. We recently produced the official athletic uniforms for the second season of NBC’s Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge as well as the official bomber jackets of the Guns N’ Roses: Not in This Lifetime Tour. Our services were included in the official prize package awarded to the winner of Project Runway Junior Season 2.

We have produced private label and independent brand collections for Zulily.com, Gilt Group, Walmart, Target and Amazon.com, and we work regularly with fashion-forward brands including Free People, Splendid, Ella Moss and Urban Outfitters. We’ve even worked with top costume designers like Debra McGuire.

Lefty loves creators and entrepreneurs and is a proud supporter of fashion colleges and their students. We regularly speak to students at fashion programs including FIDM and Santa Monica College and offer them tours of our facility. Lefty was honored in 2015 by the Los Angeles Business Journal and remains committed to domestic, Made in the USA clothing manufacturing.

We have produced collections in Asia and in South America as well as the USA and have learned the hard way how to do things the right way the first time. We love fashion and accessories and we love working with inspirational entrepreneurs and their brands.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
From our years in the fashion business, we know how difficult it is to find reliable and honest manufacturing partners and vendors. We have learned our lessons the hard way and now get to spare our clients the same heartache. In this challenging business, you need a partner you can trust, not only to be honest with you about realistic deadlines and costing, but also to have your best interest at heart.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lefty Production Co. – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Our clothing production clients include large department stores, online retailers, major labels and independent brands in America and around the world. We develop and produce women, men and childrenswear, and specialize in swimwear, activewear and athleisure styles. We fully understand the challenges involved in finding a reliable garment manufacturer that will treat you with respect and honesty, let alone one who understands your vision. We also realize that your fashion line is one of the most substantial investments you’ve probably made, not just of resources of but of time and passion!

Rest assured, we handle every project with utmost care and attention. Besides providing unparalleled design and manufacturing solutions, we seek to establish long-term relationships with our clients, even if they are just getting started. That is precisely what differentiates us from other manufacturing companies. For Lefty Production Co., our inspirational clients always come first.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We plan to continue to invest in the very latest technology so that we remain on the cutting edge of fashion innovation. We are preparing to buy a robotic/automated sample cutting machine. Otherwise, we plan to keep doing what we’re doing- adding great clients and growing our team.
