Meet Mario Adrion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mario Adrion.

Mario, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m from a small town in Germany called the Black Forest. I have always been fascinated by comedians and the world of standup and more creative ways of self-expression. But I did very well in school and there was a given path I needed to follow in order to please people around me.

When I was 18 years old, however a modeling scout reached out to me on Facebook and asked me to go to NYC for fashion week.

I had never been there, didn’t know anybody in New York and had no money. But I still went out of an impulse and got into modeling that way.

But modeling was very one-dimensional and I went through a lot of sexual harassment so I started taking acting classes and making little VLOGs for YouTube documenting my journey as a model and sharing some positivity.

It now is my full-time job to make YouTube videos and ironically, I’m not getting into standup which has been the dream that I had as a child anyway.

Now I’m living life always following my impulse instead of pleasing what others expect me to do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My main struggle has been trying to make everyone happy. That goes for casting directors and photographers often asking for sexual favors as a model, my haters on YouTube.

But I learned that it is IMPOSSIBLE to please everybody.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m proud to be sharing a message of bravery and following your impulse even if it’s not the norm! I have a bromance with my best friend Travis Bryant which is a very close relationship between a gay and a straight man. I love to question the norm we have established and to be redefining what love can mean.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
In my eyes success means doing what you love and helping others in some way in doing that. In my case that can be as simple as making people laugh or making them question current belief systems.
