Meet Marie Fabienne Amisial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Fabienne Amisial.

Marie Fabienne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a creative sponge. I love everything that has to do with individualistic style and fashion. I started styling friends and family for events in 2012 and realized this was something that brought me great joy. While working in the healthcare industry, I had a moment where I decided to pursue another passion I knew would be fulfilling and allow me to stretch my creativity. I decided to move to NYC to study Fashion Design & Fashion Business Management at The New School & Fashion Institute of Technology to learn more about the industry’s engine, and be better equipped to style to my heart’s content. Through the hustle & bustle of the city, I dove into working backstage runway shows, emerging brand coordinating, and styling presentations for brands like Kris Harring, Hugo Boss, Kanye West, and Actress/Musician Miriam Hyman. I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands I admire and would always dream of being a part of! What I’ve learned from my experiences thus far is to always pursue your passion, never let it go, and allow yourself to stand in your talents.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a true rollercoaster of events, but I wouldn’t change my journey for anything. Transitioning from a 9-5 into the freelance world was the toughest part, coupled with my relocation to Los Angeles last summer. I’ve learned and continue to learn so much about myself and the industry along the way, and have maintained humility and faith throughout the process. My challenges have expanded my resilience, motivation, and persistence, and I’m so grateful!

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am an LA-Based Personal Wardrobe Stylist. After a life-changing leap from the Corporate world, into my first love of all things fashion & style, I began styling friends & family. With a degree in Fashion Business Management from the world-renown Fashion Institute of Technology, I am proud to work with innovative designers and adventurous clients who are ready to take the next step in their wardrobe story!

I specialize in Closet Hauls, Personal Shopping and Wardrobe Styling, as well as Reinvented Image Consulting. I’m best known for my closet hauls and On-Set Styling for music videos, red-carpet events, and photo-shoots. I’m most proud of my continuous growth and willingness to explore new opportunities with brands, landing my styling techniques to be featured in Compulsive Magazine, and online editorials such as Huffington Post, Teen Vogue, Tagg Magazine, and Qwear Magazine. I think what sets me apart is the ability to not see gender in fashion, to continue to push the envelope in encouraging cross-pollinating genderless and what society sees as gender-specific clothing brands. I work very hard to affirm confidence, comfort, and a new voice into each client I work with personally.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I don’t feel that I have just one quality or characteristic. Overall, I feel that my resilience and drive are most important to my success, and the necessity to express myself and talents to the world. I think that kind of energy is what attracts clients and opportunities to me because it is infectious and very motivating. I also think that my professionalism sometimes catches people off guard, which I think comes from working in corporate settings before Fashion became my newest venture.
