Meet Maria Aus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Aus.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Since I was a kid I traveled and explored, and I still travel and explore. About people and myself, cultures and mentalities, languages and accents, similarities and differences, about everything I can. And now I shoot, I travel and shoot. And I explore. This is everything I wanna do. Travel. Explore. Shoot.

Please tell us about your art.
I am a photographer, and I only shoot film. I document life and capture things as they really are. I believe that we don’t need any retouch for seeing beauty, or any edit for seeing perfection. I think that life is perfect because of imperfections it has, this is where magic happens. This is what inspired me the most.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
Of course, we do have a chance to show how we feel, what we see, how we might want it to be. I think that art is a very big part of the world history, whatever artists say now will become history of this century in the future.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I did my first exhibition with the Gemomentry series during the 12th Santa Monica airport Art Walk this year (you can see the works in this article), and hope to have a few more soon. You may always see some of my projects on my website www.nophotoplz.com or Instagram (@aus_maria), or reach me at maria@nophotoplz.com
