Meet Margaret Caton of Fitbride in Northern Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margaret Caton.

Margaret, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Fitness has always been a passion of mine and I have been fortunate enough to share my love of it with others! I started off personal training and teaching group fitness classes and then I created my online fitness program, Fitbride, with the help of my wonderful husband!

I actually got the idea for fitbride as I was planning my own wedding. I had been a personal trainer for years and already knew what worked well and what didn’t. But I started running into the usual wedding planning obstacles… I had a million things to get done and every day was different. Some days I could work out at the gym and other days I needed to workout from home. And I never had much time, about 30 to 45 minutes a day if I was lucky. So, I began putting together short high-intensity workouts that targeted my entire body. I started noticing better results from these short, high-energy workouts than I had from my typical 60 to 90-minute workouts. That’s when I knew I was onto something. After my wedding, I reviewed my previous six months’ worth of workouts and meals and put together the first fitbride program.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Creating the Fitbride program required a lot of sacrifices. My husband and I worked relentlessly on creating a fitness program that would help as many brides-to-be as possible! The sacrifices we made to run Fitbride haven’t always been easy, but the reward of helping others makes it worth it! I remember the first time someone created a YouTube video of their fitness journey and how Fitbride helped them on their fitness journey. I was so happy I could’ve cried! That feeling of helping others makes all the sacrifices worth it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fitbride – what should we know?
The fitbride program is a two-month fitness program. It includes a workout book, with step-by-step instructions and 40 butt-kicking workouts that can be done at home or the gym. A cookbook with healthy and delicious recipes, a three-day detox (don’t worry you still get to eat real food!), a cute mason jar and a resistance band (to be used along with the workouts). The workout book, cookbook, detox guide, mason jar, and resistance band all come packaged in the cutest fitbride box and is delivered straight to the brides-to-be doorstep.

Our focus with fitbride was to make fitness as easy as possible for every bride-to-be. Planning a wedding is hectic enough, your fitness routine shouldn’t be! Our mission is to help every bride feel amazing on her big day!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I would say the two most important qualities for success in the fitness industry are passion and perseverance. Starting your own business from the ground up is tough, but if you’re doing what you love and seeing others have success, not just health and fitness wise, but gaining confidence and a belief in themselves it makes it more than worth it. My passion of helping others is what keeps me going when things get tough.
