For true artists, there is always a way. In the case of Marco Ochoa, his creative spirit awakened at the tender age of 13. He had a gift but no fancy pencils to draw with so he improvised and used his mother’s makeup to begin creating portraits. Through those initial drawings, he came to understand the intricate angles of a woman’s face. His fascination lay in a particular feature: the eyes. It was Marco’s sister who first introduced him to the concept of eyebrow threading.
Watching her get her brows threaded for the first time was a transformative experience for the young artist — the swiftness and precision of the technique intrigued him to the point that he began to experiment with thread at home. It took years of practice before he could shape the perfect eyebrow, but time — 11 years and counting — has certainly made Marco a world-renowned expert at his craft.
The buzz around his threading prowess started to build and it wasn’t long before Marco began shaping the brows of many famous faces. His signature style of threading, “Painless, Precise, Perfection,” has kept loyal celebrity clientele coming back, chief among them Brazilian model Camila Alves McConaughey, who raves:

Marco’s studio, EcoBrow, is currently located on Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills, where he sees clients in addition to booking private sessions for celebrities. He continues to flourish in the industry by doing a mix of editorial work for media outlets such as Details, Vogue, InStyle, Allure, and Glamour to name a few.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I always say that whatever you put out into the universe, you get back in return and because of this I have to say it’s been a pretty smooth road. Of course, there are always struggles along the way and quite honestly that is when you have to push harder. One of the most common struggles is always with oneself, self-doubt at times. We are always are the worst critic but we must learn to accept every flaw and love ourselves and what we do unconditionally. Remember that no one is perfect.
