Today we’d like to introduce you to Malcolm Cills.
Malcolm, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I was a little kid, I used to make up movies with my cousins and put on performances for my family. I would go over friends houses and do characters for my friend’s parents. When I was around eight years old, I was shown Eddie Murphy’s special “Delirious” and realized that I was basically doing what he was doing just I was doing it for my friends and family. I told my parents, and within a year, I was in my first commercial.
Since then, I have been perfecting my craft. Comedy and Acting are my passion. Now I’m performing in comedy clubs all over. I’ve been told a lot of No’s but I turned those No’s into motivation which got me a lot of Yes’s.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I’ve had great opportunities that lead to nothing. But I think the fact that I’ve been able to not let those bumps in the road stop me. If you want to be great, I believe you need to have bumps in the road. I still have a long way to go, but I’m excited about the long journey.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a comedian, actor, and social media personality. I use my Instagram as a vessel for my comedy. I think I get the most response on my jokes and characters through my Instagram.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When my 4th-grade teacher told me if I stopped talking in class, she would give me five minutes to talk to everyone at the end of the day. I did Chris Farley weatherman character and Eddie Murphy Ice Cream joke.
