Today we’d like to introduce you to Lydie Livolsi.
Lydie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am the proud founder of My Dental Wig. Born and raised in the West African nation of Cameroon, after graduating from high school I had set my sights on becoming a Judge or Surgeon. I only knew that I wanted to help people.
My focus narrowed significantly following a discussion with one of my older sisters who was a dentist at the time. In fact, our grandmother, a beautiful old woman, had only two canines left on her upper jaw. She loved to eat crunchy roasted peanuts.
She couldn’t because of her Missing Teeth. She will knee on the floor and use our ancestral granite crushing stone passing along generation after generation to crush and obtain a smooth peanut butter. However, her dream was to be able to shew roasted peanuts. She begged my Dentist sister to make her teeth so she can chew roasted peanuts. My sister responded to her that she is a dentist, not a teeth manufacturer. Her responsibility as a dentist is to treat teeth and help people to save them. When a tooth cannot be saved, then she will pull it out. She took the time to explain to me the detrimental effects Tooth Loss has on people’s lives. She also pointed out the weakness of the entire Dental profession.
Rather than a patient-centered treatment regimen, she noted that the entire system is geared towards the dentist while the manufacturing side of the dental profession is largely ignored. This is when I chose the dentistry field as a career. I moved to France back in 1987 and entered a very expensive private dental school.
The day of my flight to Paris, my beloved grandmother gave me all the blessings of my ancestors… My mother’s family is descendant from ancient Egyptians… We currently bury important people in the house, like Egyptians mommies… There is no cemetery in our culture. My grandmother was the one carrying and passing on, our tradition to the next generation. She was the one watching and making sure our ancestors’ skulls generations after generations were protected. So, I moved to France to learn how to replace missing teeth so I will return home and make my grandmother’s teeth, that will enable her to chew roasted peanuts. Sadly, a year and half later, in spring, I received a phone call that grandma passed away! I was devastated! I cried all the tears of my body… The same year at the summer break, I went back home. I pledged on her grave that because I wasn’t able to make her missing teeth, I WILL do it for ALL people on Earth to honor my promise to her. I returned to France with that determination to solve Missing Teeth on the planet in my mind.
The solution came into sharp focus once I entered my Dental Technician Master’s Program, and buttressed by my experience as a working dental technician working daily in a dental lab. What I noticed was the unnecessary barrier between the dental professional and people looking to solve their Missing Teeth problems. In short, the current manufacturing process of dental appliances did not serve the needs of people with Missing Teeth.
I toiled in this environment for seven long years before I gained my first inkling of what would become my raw idea of My Dental Wig, but I will speak more of that in a moment.
My next move was to relocate to sunny Southern California in Los Angeles where as a black, single mother, I was thrilled to see my daughter attend and graduate from Soka University of America in May of 2016.
I believe that we must live our lives helping other people. Towards that end, I am an active supporter of numerous charities and foundation that include:

Visible Tooth Loss can be devastating for a person’s self-confidence and life’s opportunities. As such, I created My Dental Wig because I want to change the way people think about Cosmetic Dental Procedures by offering an innovative way to improve your smile without causing a great deal of stress, or a great deal of time and money.
My process, a fully FDA approved and patented procedure, is designed to work on each part of the jaw that is Missing Teeth. I will not rest easy until I have solved the Missing Teeth problems of the entire planet.
I believe that “Everybody deserves a beautiful smile”™ because your pearly whites are your calling card, and I would like to make sure that your smile shines through to the world.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I moved from Paris to Los Angeles in June 2008. While I was working hard to start running my TV advertising in January 2009, I lost my beloved mom on December.
Then in February 2009 I was hit by the recession. In May 2009, my brother living with my son and I in Santa Monica, passed away. I found myself and my son living in USA without any family member….
USA (a country-continent with 50 states), new country, new language, new culture.
I put my business in standby and went back to college and took “Accent Reduction”, “Grammar & Vocabulary”, “English Conversation” etc. classes to improve my smooth immersion into American culture. (I aced all my classes).
My beloved future ex-husband, a French Physician, didn’t want to move in the U.S with us. In 2012, he announced me that he is dating Andrea, one of my former “friend”. This alone could have destroyed me, but I decided to become even more strong and focused.
In 2014, I filed for divorce after 16 years of being together. The divorce is still in process.
However, I’m proud I have survived! That page of my life is over.
Because all very successful CEO are great Public Speakers, I’m currently taking Public Speaking and Leadership training at ToastMasters.
