Meet Lusine Daglian of Event Du Jour in Glendale and Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lusine Daglian.

Lusine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always wanted to be an event planner, specifically a wedding planner. I would collect bridal magazines and wedding planning binders as a 20-year-old in college. I knew I would be great at it because I have a real passion for it and planning and organizing are second nature to me. However, as a 20-year-old, I was still in college finishing up my undergraduate studies in Business Marketing. I knew it would be a while before I can be ready to start my own event planning business. I was right.

I spent the next 8 years after college working in jobs that had little to do with the event industry. These jobs however, gave me the know-how and the experience in running a business and understanding how to deal with different people. I reached a point where I knew I wanted to start my own business and allow myself to be creative. Also, at this point, I had the right kind of confidence that my 20-year-old self did not have. I was ready to start my event planning business. That’s how Event Du Jour was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with any business, success doesn’t happen overnight. I entered this industry at a time when there are so many different event planners out there. Some planners have already made a name for themselves and for good reason; they are good at what they do. But that does not mean there isn’t room for Event Du Jour. Word of mouth and social media have been very kind to me in the short existence of Event Du Jour. I’ve been lucky to have planned some really beautiful events for some really amazing clients. With owning your own business, I believe there will always be struggles and challenges to overcome, but I am ready to take them head on.

Event Du Jour is a full-service event planning company. I offer full event planning, design and day of coordination services for events big or small. I offer customizable packages to fit the needs of each client and their event. It is very important to me to make sure my clients get exactly what they ask for and more. As an event planner, there is no greater joy than bringing your client’s vision to life, and seeing their eyes widen with excitement when they first walk in to see the full setup of the event.

I’m very proud of how far Event Du Jour has come in its infancy. I know this is only the beginning and can’t wait for what the future holds.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m looking forward to all the beautiful events Event Du Jour will bring to life. Turning important milestones into beautifully produced, one of a kind events.
