
Today we’d like to introduce you to Luca Burnett.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
YANTRA was created to fill the gaps within the beauty industry. We wanted to create products that are not only multifunctional, gender neutral and easy to use but also something that you feel good about using. The idea to create a line started during my time behind the salon chair.
I’ve spent almost a decade listening to my client’s struggles, as well as what they loved, which was the driving force behind creating these products. Another huge part of YANTRA is our charity aspect. Working within the beauty industry opened my eyes to how vain it has become when it should be entirely about empowering one another to feel confident in who you are. This is why YANTRA has made it a point to partner with charities and make it a part of every customers purchase that 10% will go back to whichever charity speaks to them.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been struggles! I think the most prominent struggle has been finding the right people to work with. From vendors to manufacturers the biggest obstacle was finding partners that were as inspired by YANTRA as I am and that also wanted to see the brand succeed as much as I do.
Yantra Beauty – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
YANTRA is a haircare and lifestyle brand that is aimed at bringing quality, high-performance products to market that have never been seen before. Being a company that stays original as a brand as well as with the formulation of the products has and always will be at the forefront of what we do. Another huge part of YANTRA is the impact that we have on others as a “beauty line” in the beauty community. The beauty community as a whole has placed way too much importance on vanity rather than empowerment. Since we are such a boutique line it gives us an opportunity to be able to really enforce this and help to change the overall standard of beauty. Keeping with our empowerment, YANTRA has charity partners that we donate 10% of each customer’s purchase. The customer actually gets to choose which charity they would like to support at checkout!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The two that come to mind immediately is being featured in Forbes and getting random texts and messages from friends and family about how amazing the product is.
