Karinna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was scouted as a model for Elite when I was 17 and was fortunate to travel and live around the world as an international model. My exposure to different cultures such as in France, Italy, Spain, and Japan and other parts of Asia fueled my interest in how people form personal relationships similarly and differently. From there, the historical origins of relationships and how that could benefit today’s partnerships became my passion. I have coached high achievers and A list celebrities impassioned to grow in their love life, written books on relationships and produced a film on intimacy that aired on Netflix for four years. Currently, I create applicable media and social tools for realizing optimal relationship experiences in our modern world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For me, one’s life work is a sacred journey. You will have expansive, mystical moments, bumps, highs, and lows along your journey. That is natural and I’ve had my share.
I’ve discovered when something is new or novel to people it takes time for them to value it. That was challenging for me.
Don’t let an experience or pattern of experiences define you. Learn from your obstacles. They are our greatest teachers.
I am a lifelong meditator and hiker. I use these activities to support me through any challenging moments and keep growing and flowing.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I appreciated the sultry, sensuality of the environment I lived in south of Savannah, GA. Live oaks and palm trees, wild beaches and balmy nights fostered a romantic atmosphere. I loved to read, adventure, swim, and dream and still do. I set life goals from the age of 13. I played classical violin for ten years with the community orchestra.
Do you feel like our city is a good place for businesses like yours? If someone was just starting out, would you recommend them starting out here? If not, what can our city do to improve?
I feel L.A. is a great place to create. I founded my first company Sacred Love Inc. in L.A. in late 2002 and I reached into the community right away. I hosted dating events, started speaking at local conferences, and teaching through yoga studios and acupuncture offices around the city. That got the ball rolling.
