Meet Lindsay Anastasio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Anastasio.

Lindsay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been in love with numbers and philosophy. When I was young, quicken and Microsoft money had just started to become popular and I would play around for hours with the program and my babysitting money. I was fascinated with power of computers, data and financial reporting. I did grow up in a very chaotic household and it seemed money was a big driver to this chaos which led me to join the US Army shortly after high school. I wanted to learn leadership, empowerment and discipline… skills that were not part of my childhood development. I spent 8 years in the military and was able to finish my BBA in accounting.

After I left the service, I decided to move back to NYC and start my finance career. At this time, I had so much life experience but still lived in this scarcity model. Studying accounting really helped the traditional aspects of finance and business but not on a personal level to include the trauma I experienced since a small child. It seemed everything I did or step I took revolved around money and was so draining. While in university, I also took philosophy courses which was like Pandora’s box! Especially when I learned about Venn diagrams and how mathematical these philosophical writing encompassed. I have never stopped my curiosity for philosophy and used this wisdom in my accounting career which was extremely helpful in the NYC mayhem! I had a very rewarding career that lasted 12 years.

I worked for very innovative, intelligent and sophisticated boutique/startups. The first half of my career I spent on Wall St and my last year I was miserable. The company I was working at was bought and I saw the culture and dynamics really shift for the worse..the employees were in fear of losing their jobs and we were constantly having layoffs. I have been through this before and was so tired and not mentally well. I was sitting at a Starbucks during my lunch break and was so frustrated so I asked the universe what separated us from Albert Einstein and that is the day meditation was delivered to me… the answer I received was to tap into my left & right brain. I started reading about the neurological response of our brain and breathing which then led to a meditation practice, yoga, and a quantum physics research.

Shortly after shifting my perspective on life and breathing properly, I started my own consulting co really supporting this grassroots movement in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I kept seeing the same patterns over and over again while consulting; reactivity and projection when I would show audit results, startup would lose its creativity energy when they brought more seasoned management in to help with growth, and employees really not in a flow with company and not truly understanding mission. It really showed me money trauma as a collective. So many important business decisions based on fear on so many levels and the trickle-down effect. This took me on an “eat pray love” hiatus to gain more wisdom from the land and indigenous folks.

I started to experience all this intelligence I have been reading for over a decade. My intuition was strong and knew it was time to leave my NYC home once again and answered the LA call the universe had delivered. I sold everything to include my Brooklyn condo and headed west. I spent two months on the road spending time in the little hidden gem cities that you would miss on a plane and connected to the most interesting people. I have been in LA for 1.5 years now and do retreat up in Ojai quite a bit and that is where I have developed this new model. The integrative accounting model really brings all the worlds together and unifies. I am beyond excited that I can do this for a living and really help businesses and their employees to thrive.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I do not think the word easy will be used in my journey description! Money has always been a huge fear of mine. I have been on a few nonprofit boards to include the eviction intervention services and would hear the people we helped stories. It always made me reflect that this could be me one day as well. These people are no different from myself especially with my own experience of PSTD. From this point, I started to really reflect on my own money PSTD on my life journey and from this deep reflection I was able to really see how it impacted the western modern world as a collective. Money PSTD is so common in our modern society and not limited to lower income/homeless individuals. I would witness this trauma in billion dollar revenue generating companies senior managment.and kept seeing how detrimental money was to individuals well being and health. These observations really helped tune into common money stagnations and because of all the wisdom and skills I attained I can now bring solutions to a culture in need.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I help unify business owners with their businesses using an integrative approach combining traditional accounting, financial technology, strategic operational methods with quantum physics principles. Based on Bloomberg research, Forbes reports that of 8 out of every 10 businesses will fail within the first 18 months. According to The New York Times, poor financial management, operational inefficiencies, and rapid growth are only a few top reasons for these failures..I believe in traditional audits as an essential tool and help businesses figure out where they are today and where they need to go in order to STAY IN BUSINESS. Auditing is an essential and very powerful proactive tool to prevent business failure. It enables business owners to see different views of their business and its current health.

As for the quantum physics principles, we will really concentrate on data analytics and finding the magical heartbeat/rhythm of your company by using cutting edge technology and highly customized processes. After completing an intake questionnaire, I can access if we are a good match and can collaborate using model. If we are a good fit, the cosmic journey begins and we will set up 90 days (quarter) 4 phase integrated audit.

1. The audit begins and we look at the past and present of your company by testing sample data and getting a snapshot of your company’s financial health… and now we can truly understand your financial reports.

2. I observe operational flow of the company and test the environment.

3. I present all my findings and results so we can move into the next action steps and set up milestones.

4. In the aftermath phase, we will monitor cycles and new rhythm of company and operational flow.

After the 90 days, you will end up with a cosmic shift in perspective, a new business philosophy, and with an efficient/effective financial & operational business flow with tangible milestones.

I am so proud of this model and really do believe I can help others THRIVE and heal to create personal freedom and a meaningful life. I do not know of any other integrative accountants. One would have to go to at least two or three different modalities and professional services to receive this kind of work.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I am an Aries and never settle! I am very curious and very proud that I never stop moving and constantly face my fears. I really do love my professional background and always knew when it was time to leave a position. I have always been more about the experience vs money.
