Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Aiassa.
Lexi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I come from a big Italian family. You could say we “live to eat.” Refusing a dish, likely one created by your grandmother who has perfected the recipe over decades, would be met with an eye roll. To be fair, the meals are delicious, but they always came with some sort of digestion issue. I thought that this was normal, an unavoidable result. I tried to address my issues with doctors and received countless prescriptions that only created more problems (bacterial imbalances, SIBO, and leaky gut).
Finally, in my mid-twenties, I said enough was enough. I wanted a better relationship with my gut. It took time and some experimentation, but when I finally found digestive enzymes, I felt like I had hit the jackpot. My issues started to dissipate. I felt in control for the first time.
Yet, I still found myself buying bottle after bottle to find the right one for me – ideally one that was plant based, had the right blend of enzymes, and easy to take with me on the go. Between living in New York City and Los Angeles, so many of my meals were out rather than at home (and that’s when I needed digestive enzymes the most!)
Eventually, I decided to create my ideal product. I teamed up with a group of experts to create my own premium proprietary digestive enzyme blend with the goal of disrupting the digestive space and helping others take back control of their gut. The Confidence Co was born!

Has it been a smooth road?
Life as an entrepreneur is more of a rollercoaster — you have highs, lows, and sometimes your stomach feels like it’s been jolted into your head. No day is the same and putting out fires becomes your specialty. The Confidence Co motto and branding revolve around the slogan Trust Your Gut. I try my best to practice Gut Confidence daily. Learning to trust my gut instinct has given me permission to lean into the most authentic version of myself. Since I entered the workforce ten years ago, I have learned to love the journey itself rather than racing to the destination. Every job I’ve had has led me to exactly where I am now and I couldn’t be more grateful. If anything, my journey has proved to me that the best things in life tend to be the most challenging. Each obstacle tests and continues to propel us forward as stronger humans. It’s a journey filled with limitless opportunities.

Our goal is to empower people to eat intuitively, all while educating them on why digestion and gut health is essential to their overall wellbeing.
The unrealistic expectations and false realities we are shown in the media can be extremely deflating. I know myself have felt personally victimized by the wellness industry. As human beings, we are naturally imperfect, that is what makes us HUMAN. The guilt and shame we put on ourselves regarding our eating habits can be a root cause of digestive issues.
Our products are vegan, thoughtfully made with globally sourced ingredients, and designed for those who go. Digestive Enzymes break down complex food molecules that if left undigested can act as irritants to your GI tract or prevent you from getting the full goodness and nourishment from a given food. Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is an amazing city to do what I do. It’s a dynamic, multi-cultured city that has some of the best weather and food in the country. Health and wellness are taken seriously, and people are open to new ideas. I’m of the opinion that most of the great wellness trends in our country were born in Southern California.
