Meet Leniel and Ayah Velazquez of Leniel V. Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leniel and Ayah Velazquez.

Leniel and Ayah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We are a husband and wife team. Photography was not something Leniel chose, photography more or less found him. The ability to capture in moment, preserve a memory and to share an experience with someone else was so beautiful to him. Our first time we had the chance to document our first wedding, it was such an honor for both of us being part of such a significant experience in these two individual’s lives. That’s when we became aware of this passion for photography.

This originally started by Leniel taking pictures of landscapes when we would go on vacation. Leniel would get compliments of how his pictures would capture emotion, time and tell a story. He strives to capture candid images to where people can look back at the image and experience the emotion that took place in the photo. Leniel has other wedding photographers as mentors and they inspired him to become a wedding photographer. His passion is capturing the moments. I (Ayah) love to speak and know a little more about managing a business and approaching clients. We said well let’s give it a shot. We started out with small weddings and then word of mouth kicked in. One thing led to another and within two years we expanded drastically. Now we advertise with large social media based companies, We even expanded out to doing International weddings as well. We will go wherever our clients take us! We are blessed as we continue to expand, learning as we go the demands of brides and grooms of today. Being a young power couple helps in keeping an opened mind about what is out there now. Having a female perspective on the team makes the brides more comfortable in the capturing process. We look forward to continue servicing the LA county region.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely had not been smooth for us. Lots of time and finances has been placed along the way. We take each lesson learned from every event we do and use it to better the next outcome. There have been times where business slows down and we always strive to figure out how can we make it better.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Leniel V. Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
We are professional wedding photographers. Although we do other types of photography, we are passionate about weddings. We are known for capturing the moment, telling a story, making an emotional outcome of the ones looking at the image. We take pride when clients tell us “man I cried when I looked at my photos.” What sets us apart is the photo journalism style we do. Meaning our images tell an emotional story from beginning to end.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We see ourselves only expanding. We would like to be saturated all over Southern California, even doing more International weddings. Being featured more into magazines, expos and who knows teaching other photographers how to become successful in this industry. We see it as the sky is the limit.
