Today we’d like to introduce you to Lemy Argueta.
Lemy has worked in Spanish language media for over 20 years. He began his career in media sales with Telemundo TV Network in 1992. In 1994, he joined Heftel Broadcasting (KLVE/KTNQ) radio as a marketing consultant. In 1997, he became sales manager at Spanish Broadcasting Systems (KLAX/KXOL), one of the largest Spanish radio companies in the U.S.
He started an advertising agency, Media Design & Marketing in 2001 and has since established it as a leading Spanish language agency in branding and retail/direct response marketing.
Soccer has always been his passion. His 2 favorite teams are Los Cremas del Comunicaciones Guatemala and Real Madrid. He has been lucky to go to Clásicos since 2006 – sometimes once and sometimes twice per year. He has also been to Champions League games, quarter finals, and finals throughout recent years. He has also been lucky enough to watch play Zidane, Beckham, Raul, Ronaldinho, Eto, Puyol, and now the greatest in the world – CR7 and Messi.
Throughout the years, he always met other fans who reminded him how lucky he was to go to the games since tickets are so hard to get. He got together with his now business partner, Imer Vigil of Happy Tours Travel, and realized that the 2 of them could put together the ultimate experience for Barça and Real fans. El Clásico tickets are practically impossible to get. Their goal is to give other fans like them the chance to go to the best fútbol game in the world.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every business has highs and lows. When it’s your own business you feel the pressure a little more. This is my second entrepreneurial venture and I’m happy to say that this one has been easier to start then my first, because we had all the infrastructure ready to go.
Please tell us about El Clasico Trips.
El Clasico Trips specializes in trip packages to the most watched game in the world between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona – El Clasico. For people who are not season ticket holders, which most of us aren’t, these tickets are really difficult to get. And often, when people buy tickets they end up being fake tickets.
We are here to give people the opportunity to go to El Clasico through our trip packages. Each trip package includes round trip airfare, hotel, breakfasts, stadium tour, city tour, transfers, and of course – a ticket to the game.
