Today we’d like to introduce you to Laurence de Crisnay.
Hi Laurence, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in France, I ended my college studies in the UK. I loved the experience of leaving abroad. When my husband announced he was asked to relocate in Los Angeles, I didn’t hesitate, and the whole family moved here in 2016.
I have spent 20 years in management positions at L’Oreal, Warner Bros and at the brand Chloé. I visited LA and the US several times for business purposes. However, living here full-time is a different experience. I enjoy the way of life, the people and the outdoor activities. Obviously, the weather and the very specific light of southern California are unique.
I discovered a very different style of foods. For me, food has always been a real source of pleasure, an exploration and a heritage. I love to discover new ingredients or recipes and to be able to share food with others. In many ways, food enhances life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My move to the United States and my various high-intensity jobs have all been great sources of happiness for me while also being very unsettling at times.
Combining motherhood, this demanding lifestyle with my love of food has been rocky. My weight was constantly fluctuating and the various diets I had tried left me unsatisfied. Their restrictive framework led to temporary results. None of them taught me how to be independent in my nutrition choices.
In order to find the right balance, I decided to get my training in nutrition and later in neurobiology.
I have developed my method which combines an understanding of the needs of the entire body with the acquisition of key skills to change habits over time.
I tested my method on myself and proceeded to share it with my friends, family, and clients who have all benefited from it greatly!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Me, Fit & Free?
With Me, Fit & Free, I help active women between ages 35 and 60 to free themselves from the physical and mental burden of their diet and weight to feel light, fulfilled and radiant.
These women are oftentimes juggling with family life, professional life and personal aspirations. It is a period of life where mental load is at an all-time high with children to raise, a career to excel in, a relationship to entertain and a home to upkeep. Additionally, hormonal changes have both physical and mental impacts.
Women often add a few pounds even those who have never struggled with issues of nutrition or weight.
I’m offering a solution – a strategy – easy to implement in their busy schedule to boost their energy level and regain their silhouette.
Unlike many approaches, the program is designed to build autonomy. Here is how the collaboration with my clients works:
– We initiate simple and efficient actions that offer visible results.
– We update their benchmarks and free themselves from obsolete behaviors.
– They develop their ability to strike the right balance between enjoying meals and loving their reflection.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
A fairly uncommon feature for a nutrition coach is that I’m a former exec in corporations and a trained baker!
It is very helpful in my practice. I perfectly relate to my client’s experiences and desires: their crazy schedules, their sweet tooth and finding the right balance.
