Meet Krysta Venora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krysta Venora.

Hi Krysta, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I grew up sitting in the car outside the Cats Eye in Long Beach while my mom got her readings, so magic has always been part of my life. I have always been interested in anything witchy and it wasn’t until 2013 that I realized it could be a bigger part of my life. Those were the days of the witch community on YouTube starting to gain an audience and when I saw those people living as witches and practicing magic that I felt in my bones was real, I was hooked! I turned all my ADHD obsessive powers onto my spiritual journey and it changed my life. As a kid, I had a few terrifying experiences with ghosts and so I closed that part of myself down pretty hard. It wasn’t until I was a fully practicing witch and tarot reader that I began to communicate with spirits in a healthy way. I have always felt spiritually connected to the Earth and the invisible world; it just took me a while to gain the courage to actually experiment with spirit work.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Although being Indigenous (Choctaw and Lakota) was a big part of my life, I was also raised Mormon! So, my spiritual journey has been a lot of unlearning harmful rhetoric and remembering ancestral wisdom. All journeys of self-discovery and actualization lead you directly to obstacles and challenges and spirituality is no different. I was faced with parts of myself I hated and parts of myself that I never knew and was given the chance to love them. I had to face my own trauma as a survivor of many kinds of abuse and heal through it to be able to hold space for anyone else. Yes, it had bumps in the road, but ultimately my spiritual path gave me the tools to manage the obstacles that society puts before me as a Black, Indigenous, Trans, and Queer person.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a psychic witch and tarot reader! My work is focused on meeting the spiritual needs of my community through meditations, classes on different spiritual techniques, and 1:1 spirit sessions. I am connected to many different spirits and cosmologies thru my own mixed ancestry and the spirits that choose to engage with me, so I can work with a wide variety of people. My main focus is on helping people in the LGBTQIA+ community to come to a place of self-acceptance and to give them the tools to heal themselves. Queer people have so much power but are constantly told that they have none. My mission is to connect us with the energies of the Earth and the Stars so we can live better, more aligned, and purposeful lives filled with the joy and love we deserve. My spirit sessions are a combination of Tarot reading and channeling the helping spirits of my clients to offer advice, care, and love. People leave my sessions feeling awake, inspired, connected, and hopeful, with the tools they need to continue on their personal growth journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
The earth makes me happy; I am all the way in love with this planet like no other. I am so happy when I see a client of mine growing and blooming so beautifully. Living the way they want to and understanding themselves as natural and naturally deserving of good things. I love children, I love community care, I love when the houseless are housed and the hungry are fed. I am happy when the birds visit me, I am happy watching anyone be so fully themselves. I love my fish, and my cats, and my family. I am such a sap for real, and I’m proud of it. I am happy when marginalized people stand up for themselves and demand proper care and love. I am happy when dark-skinned people win at anything. I am very sensually oriented so I love good food and smells, interesting texture, and sounds. I am happy when Trans people are respected and celebrated. And, I am happy to be around other happy people.
