Meet Kazeem Salaam of ZeemTheDream in Riverside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kazeem Salaam.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kazeem. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since the beginning of middle school, I was continuously told that I take really good pictures. It wasn’t until I bought my first camera in high school, that I started to take on the craft of photography. As time progressed my family encouraged me that I should start taking pictures professionally for events, people, etc. By the end of high school, I got my first booking to take pictures of an event. The feeling of being able to capture the highlights of the events really filled me with joy. In the future I knew I wanted to start taking pictures of people a build my portfolio. It wasn’t until I registered for the Young Creators and Visionaries Collaborative (YCVC) 2019 that I had the chance to showcase my talents. I was able to take pictures of models, meet new people, but best of all, gain the experience I needed as a photographer. With a growing portfolio and a website on the way, I’m very content with my progress as a photographer thus far.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. There were times that my photography skills weren’t reaching the full potential that I knew they could reach. However, with practice and encouragement from my family, I have continued to persevere in the art of photography.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the ZeemTheDream story. Tell us more about the business.
I am known for and specialize in taking photos of people. This includes event photos and personal photoshoots. I am most proud of creating the vision that my clients want and capturing their ideas in my photos. What sets me apart from others is my eye for creativity. I feel like I really know how to work the camera and formulate my visions through the lens!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, I see my photography skills definitely being recognized locally and hopefully even globally. I have hopes of my website being fully established, showcasing my work and allowing people to take witness of my creativity.
