Meet JT Roach

Today we’d like to introduce you to JT Roach.

Thanks for sharing your story with us JT. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m from Madison, Wisconsin. I moved here to become a songwriter. I lived in a hallway for almost three years and wrote demos out of a walk-in closet. I won the One Republic episode of NBC Songland for my song “Somebody To Love”. My artist career has been blossoming in the EDM space. I live in Studio City and have been working from my home studio during the pandemic.

Has it been a smooth road?
I lived in a hallway for almost three years in an artist commune house. I was broke for several periods of time and living the Ramen life and couch surfing with friends. I also had my Taylor guitar stolen out of my car when I was living in Silverlake. Someone broke my window and stole it.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I am a singer/songwriter/music producer signed with BMG. I’m proud of winning the One Republic episode of NBC Songland. I’m proud of the many songs I have placed with mainstream artists including One Republic, French Montana, Slander, Said The Sky, Jessie Reyez, Dove Cameron, Don Diablo, Nicky Romero, and many others. I am very proud of my original songs on my artist project under my name JT Roach. I am proud that I moved out of my hometown of Madison, Wisconsin and have been able to make a full-time career in the music industry as a singer/songwriter/producer.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that the weather always seems to be perfect. I love that the people in LA all seem to have a passion and aspirations of creating and achieving their dreams. I love the food. I love the ocean. I love that so much amazing art happens here.
