Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Fredenburg.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Approximately eight years ago, I was traveling the country as a national speaker on college campuses and noticed that many college students were not being given the proper skills necessary to attain career leadership success after graduation.
So, instead of complaining about the problem, I decided to create the Circle of Change Leadership Conference, which is a three-day national leadership conference that helps emerging and seasoned leaders in college discover the leader from within, develop the leadership and professional skills necessary to attain career leadership success, and inspire them to make a positive impact in their community, nation, and world!
Throughout these past eight years, not only did we receive an award for the Top Student Leadership Program in the country by the NASPA Student Leadership Knowledge Community in 2015, but we have seen an array of student leaders go unto work for companies such as NBC Universal, Fox Sports, Google, Target, the White House, Enterprise Rent A Car, Sherwin Williams, Disney, Verizon Wireless, local news affiliates, Teach for America, Rogers and Cowan PR Firm, and BBC Worldwide to name a few.
In addition to the amazing accomplishments of our student leaders from all across the country, we have also hosted regional conferences in San Jose, California and Houston, Texas, and have been able to partner with amazing professionals from more than 100 elite companies and organizations within Southern California.
Moving forward, we are continuing to host our transformational national and regional leadership conferences, we have began a monthly leadership webinar series, created a year long leadership development curriculum, and I have continued to travel the country speaking at more than 50 college events yearly as a national speaker within the collegiate and corporate market.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Our journey has not been smooth at all. We have faced a variety of challenges such as rejection, failure, and uncertainty. Thankfully, we have been able to overcome all these challenges because we have stayed focus on our mission of impacting the lives of students. In effect, the support, motivation, and financial contributions that we have attained for this mission of developing the next generation of leaders has manifested because we have always kept our purpose of impacting the lives of students at the forefront of everything that we do. And, when you work to impact the lives of others, things have a way of working in your favor.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Circle of Change and Vision XY story. Tell us more about the business.
I serve as the President of Circle of Change, which is a 501 c3 organization. As the President of the organization, I help plan our national and regional conferences, I help develop are leadership and conference curriculum, and I strategically partner and connect with sponsors and industry professionals that I believe have a heart to transform the lives of student leaders. I also develop student leaders through our Circle of Change Leadership Conference internship program that we have been running for the past five years.
In addition to this role as President, I also travel the country as a national speaker and author at various conferences, trainings, retreats, and events speaking to audiences at colleges and corporate organizations about issues that revolve mainly around leadership, diversity, and career success. My speaking schedule consist of about 50 speaking engagements per year that vary in sizes and age demographics.
I am known to be a dynamic, inspiring, and transformational speaker that has an amazing ability to transform the lives of others and build positive relationships with almost anyone. The aspect of my work that I am most proud about is when are programs inspire people to reach their fullest potential and make a positive impact in the lives of someone else.
What sets us apart from others is the unique approach and energy that we bring to all of our events. There really is no leadership experience like the Circle of Change Leadership Experience.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I often say that luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity. And with our company, we have been fortunate on several occasions, but I believe these opportunities have occurred because of hard work, constant pursuit of our mission, and an inner strength that refuses to give up on the things we have envisioned to do to transform the lives of others.
