Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Diaz.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been acting professionally for the past six years and the journey has been truly a faith-filled adventure. I reside currently in Plant City, FL. Working primarily in Tampa/St. Pete and Orlando, I’m thankful to have worked with my local agents and build work friendships to create and be part of some exciting projects. I’m looking forward to getting back on set post-COVID and move forward as an actor and filmmaker.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road I traveled has been a bumpy, but eventful one for sure. There are always challenges in this business, it just comes with the territory. Its a matter of being confident and comfortable in your own skin and improving where necessary. Sometimes you fit the vision physically or skill-wise for a project and sometimes you don’t. All in all, regardless of the result you gotta keep moving forward.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My business is my acting, whether it is film, commercial, or voice-over. I truly enjoy fitting into the shoes of a role I take on. I am an extrovert and have had an animated personality for as long as I can remember. I enjoy making people laugh and flipping the script by playing a serious dramatic role. It is a tie between film and voice-work, I love bringing a vision of a character to life and adding something new that just works on film. Voice-work is building life from just the voice and has to be one of the most fun I’ve had in this business. I am thankful to have received Best Actor Award for the Creative Loafing Best of the Bay 2019. I think something that sets me apart is striving to be a team player and I try to help make everyone’s set to experience a positive one. It is a blessing to be in this business and working at that, So the least anyone can do is to share the joy.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
That is an excellent question! The future as many can see is a bit on the uncertain side. Regardless of whats on the news, I am hopeful to move forward at this time to keep training, auditioning, and look good housing in a few select “production friendly” states. This has been a trying time for most I know, but even in this difficult time, we can refocus to keep our eyes on our purpose.
