Today we’d like to introduce you to Joanne Rubino.
Hi Joanne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my career as an actor years ago when an opportunity behind the camera presented itself. I spent the next 2 decades cutting my teeth working with some of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors, directors, producers and talented crews across all platforms. I’ve had the good fortune of working on multiple award-winning critically acclaimed feature films, television series, documentaries and unscripted projects. Which included, Brando, Hatfields and McCoys, Sun Records, Texas Rising, Surviving Compton, Steve McQueen: The Essence of Cool, Gene Simmons: Family Jewels and a slew of others. Fast forward to a few years ago when I made the decision to “Be Brave” and develop, create and produce meaningful content under my own banner Be Brave Media. Alongside my friend and partner Darla Marasco, and in collaboration with incredibly talented pro’s like Jamie and Jason Neese, David Clark, Megan Johnson, Brookwell McNamara and a group of like-minded creative and production executives we have amassed a slate of powerful content including internationally viable IP across all genres and have supported bright new talent along the way. We are on the precipice of major success. Plowing through two years of a pandemic and keeping our eyes on the prize, always putting the project first and doing so with integrity and consideration for those who are on this journey with us.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Obstacles and challenges are present throughout life and certainly in any business endeavor., some big huge mountains and some just bumps in the road. and in my chosen profession as an independent producer, there are plenty of both. I do my best to leave ego behind and not take things personally. I look to surround myself with collaborative authentic individuals who make the road traveled smoother and certainly more enjoyable.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a production and creative force with the ability to juggle an enormous workload. I have set tv and film projects up and taken them from writer’s room to delivery. I have built out offices, managed huge crews, prepared companies for sale and proudly stood up for those around me. I hope that my desire for justice and commitment to being a good human are what sets me apart. I will never throw anyone else under a bus and will do anything for my friends and close colleagues.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Life is filled with mentors and teachers of all kinds. There is a long list who deserve credit for different reasons I’ll name a few but there are many others. Some who teach you lessons no matter how painful, some who inspire and support and remind us we got this.
