Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Rich.
Jessica Rich Collection was founded by fashion expert and television personality, Jessica Rich. With an innate passion for fashion and the acquired knowledge of how to dress well on a budget, which she gained from her strong, hardworking mother, Jessica managed to earn the title of ‘Best Dressed’ in high school. Her classmates’ assumption that she was rich because her style became the basis behind her alias as well as her trademark, ‘Style It Rich!’
Since launching her online store in early 2015, Jessica’s designs have been worn by high profile celebrities such as the Kardashian sisters, Ashanti, Blac Chyna, Jennifer Lopez, Kesha, Lala Anthony, Lil Mama, Sasha Banks, Tamar Braxton amongst many others. The brand has also been featured in People, InStyle, US Weekly, E! News, Sheen Magazine and Fashion Bomb Daily.
Each design is a reflection of Jessica’s personal style which is definitely daring, sexy and sophisticated. She continually strives to provide the customer with a million dollar look without the hefty price tag. Her personal designs are showcased under ‘Rich Collection.’
In late 2017, Jessica debuted, Transparent by Jessica Rich, her first line of shoes which has been wildly successful and proved that her signature aesthetic can be translated across multiple categories. The intent behind her clear, see-through footwear is that it can be paired with anything and everything, giving the customer versatility and once again saving them money without sacrificing style.
Finding the balance between modern design and fine craftsmanship, Jessica’s footwear is stylish yet wearable. The ‘Fancy Stiletto’ and ‘So Bossy Slide’ have become her signature styles and have quickly risen to must-have status by top influencers across the globe.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
‘I started the Transparent by JESSICA RICH line because I was so tired of wearing the same color shoes over and over. PVC shoes had just started coming out, but there weren’t a lot of options, so I simply started creating what I wasn’t seeing.
‘I have always been totally obsessed with that iconic shoe silhouette, but I had never seen it made in a clear material.’ I started my online store in 2015 by designing clothing and selling other brands. This was because I owned a boutique fashion Pr firm called who you know PR.
I was helping build smaller brands from the ground up and after being let go from them after the brands were already big and no longer needed my help. That is when I had no choice but to use my connections I used to build other brands to build my own. I was always asked “Jess why isn’t this your company? You are doing all the work”. That’s when I realized your right!
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I run my company founder and creator. I started it on my own with $1000 with no investors. I now have a team who helps with customer service and everything in between.
I used to do all the work from customer service PR and shipping and designing all myself up until last year. I was not interested in having anyone steal my connections or ideas, so I wanted to keep it under wraps. But after shipping over 100 orders in a day I knew then it was time to hire people.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I want to expand another store in NYC, and also I have another line dropping soon but can’t say what yet. I want to just perfect the brand now and get everything as sharp as possible to continue to be the best brand in my line of shoes, High end but for an affordable price that all the major celebs are wearing.
