Meet Jesse Jory of Jory Integrative Medicine in Silver Lake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Jory.

Jesse, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my health and wellness career In Los Angeles as a yoga teacher and massage therapist working on and off set for film and TV and private clients. After years of teaching and driving all over LA I returned back to school to complete my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in San Fransisco at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Shortly after graduating medical school, I went to Nepal to fulfill personal goal in humanitarian work. This was a very inspirational time in my life setting up health care clinics and treating patients in rural Nepal.

When I returned to Los Angeles, I decided to open my own integrative health clinic. Currently, we have a chiropractor, dermatologist, physical therapist and myself an Acupuncturist.

In 2020 big expansion plans are in the works!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Operating a successful business is never a smooth road, that is actually one of the things I like about it. You get to wear a lot of different hats. No day is ever the same. Everyday has its challenges and I like it that way.

The biggest struggle for me was when I opened my doors and wondered if anyone would ever come to seek treatment. I always kept an open mind and continually reminded myself that if I built a space I would want to come for treatment then others would want to come. That is exactly what happened.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jory Integrative Medicine story. Tell us more about the business.
Jory Integrative Medicine is a wholistic healthcare business. I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and a Herbalist. I am known for pain management and orthopedic acupuncture, specifically sports medicine acupuncture. I have also been very successful in treating anxiety, insomnia and digestive related gastrointestinal disorders.

I am most proud of the fact that all of our practitioners have a passion for wellness, community and compassion. These values provide a healing space that is very special.

What sets us apart from other healthcare practitioners is our ability to treat root causes of disease and pain pathologies. We take our time with patients. We sit with our patients and listen to what is going on. We also use the latest technologies available in our fields so each patient can feel confident they are getting the most current treatment options available.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in hard work, determination and learning from the failures I have had in my life. I love the quote by Samuel Beckett-“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.”
