Meet Jennifer Torres of Crepe Lamour

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Torres.

Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Crepe Lamour in April of 2020 right when the pandemic started. It all began with a sweet craving for a crepe when lockdown had just commenced. After almost 2-3 weeks of attempting to make the perfect crepe batter, I had my family try my crepes for the first time they immediately loved them and encouraged me to sell them as a side business. I created an Instagram started with taking orders and delivering them to my customers. After getting so many great compliments, I knew at that moment I had to take it to the next level. I contacted a friend/old boss of mine Yulazki for my first catering event with The Makeup Stop as a collaboration. From that point on my business just continued to grow each month and we have had the opportunity to work with huge event planning companies like Elegancia Event Services, influencers, and many more. We are so thankful to keep staying busy and booked every weekend.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being your own boss is definitely a 24/7 job there is nothing easy about running a business. I have learned to wear so many hats and continue to learn something new each day. One of my biggest struggles has been time management and overbooking myself. I hate to say no to my customers or turn down an event. I then realized taking on too much work was stressing me out and I wasn’t providing my customers the full fun memorable catering experience.

As you know, we’re big fans of Crepe Lamour. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our specialty is providing our customers with a fun and memorable catering experience by serving our delicious Crepes. We pride ourselves on offering the best service and top-quality ingredients to our customers such as our fully organic crepe batter. We are one of the few crepe companies that offer a wide menu selection with over five different fruits, syrups, and toppings. One of our top sellers is our signature cheesecake crepes, character crepes, and personalized crepes. We recently added a new delicious menu item for our catering services which is our buttermilk mini pancakes. I am most proud of the relationships I have built with so many of our customers and vendors. With our catering packages, we have the ability to work with different budgets and provide the same exciting and memorable experience for their guests. We cater to all types of events birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, corporate, schools, and many more.

How do you define success?
I define success as pursuing and enjoying what you love to do the most. Being happy at what you do and most importantly having fun while you’re doing it. There is no point in being rich if you don’t enjoy what you do.
