Meet Jenna Willis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Willis.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My fitness journey began with gymnastics when I was two or three, which eventually led me to competing in national competitions up until high school. Gymnastics transitioned into volleyball, and I soon found myself as one of the tiniest D-1 volleyball players in the nation. My journey continued post-graduation, and I used training and working out as an outlet for stress while I pursued my acting career in LA.

However, like most aspiring actors, I found myself working, and then not working, sometimes, with a lot of off time, wanting more, and at the gym. Eventually, I began to notice a trend at the gym where people approached me and asked me if I was a trainer as they watched me doing a workout routine of heavy lifting, mixed with resistance band work, and plyometrics. My response changed from “no, no, I’m not” into, “Yes, yes I am.”

So I took the leap. I decided to fulfill my fitness life in a different aspect and instead of just training myself, I got certified as a trainer so I could train others. I couldn’t be happier. When I started this journey, I truly believed I’d be kicking people’s asses and taking names, but what I fell in love with about it is how much it positively changes and empowers others. It has literally brought me to tears at times. It’s fine—I know I’m emotional!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Every road has its potholes. I’d tell you, but they’re no longer my struggles. I’ve focused to make them my strengths. I blame my success on my ability to address my weaknesses, mixed with a little bit of sheer luck. However, I believe luck is when preparation meets opportunity. So I consider myself to have been preparing my whole life for this, and now I’m able to share all I’ve learned along the way.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I create a lifestyle for my clients, it’s a lot more than just a workout plan. You can look great on the outside, but if you don’t feel good on the inside, what’s the point? Fitness isn’t a destination, it’s a journey. Not only does developing a physical regime develop your physical strength, but it also helps create a stronger mentality.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Well, I’m looking forward to finding out myself. If I can reach or inspire a single person, I consider what I do a success. This past year was amazing with lots of growth, thanks to the support of those around me. I hope to continue to grow, empowering myself and others through our fitness journeys.
