Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Marquez.
Hi Jasmine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story started back in 2007, I was a newly licensed Esthetician working around LA and Orange County. I worked for a few different salons and spas until finally settling in Brea, CA. I was working for a well known waxing only salon in Yorba Linda, CA as a Manager/Waxer for about five years. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, the owner of the salon decided to close my location.
Because of this, I was left with a difficult decision to leave my clients behind and relocate to a different salon or venture out as my own boss. With a push from my partner at the time, I took a leap of faith and started my own business.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This whole experience has been eye-opening and a learning experience in all aspects of the business. As a one-woman show, I have to do it all. I have a lot of room for improvement in the social media/marketing side but I’m confident in time I will advance. As an Esthetician in this day and age, you have to be on your toes, ready to learn and keep up with the continuous change in techniques in skincare. I strive to be an expert in all the services I offer my clients. The road hasn’t always been smooth, but along the way I’ve grown in my business and within myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an Esthetician that specializes in the art of hair removal. At Sugar Honey OC, I offer full body waxing and sugaring for both men and women. I am proficient in the Brazilian Wax and have perfected my technique for the last 15 years. I’ve expanded my services to organic facials, brow laminations, and lash lifts. I am most proud of the bonds that I have with each and every one of my clients. Trust is a huge part of each service I offer and I am grateful they have chose me to provide their service.
What does success mean to you?
Success can mean something different for everyone, as for me, success is being happy. Being happy with myself and my life. Waking up everyday and truly enjoying what you do. Being happy and proud of the work you put out everyday. Feeling confident in one’s career choice is a success. When you are fulfilled and content with yourself and your work, I believe that it translates to all areas of your life.
