Meet Jaelin Phillips of No Rivals in Fashion District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaelin Phillips.

Jaelin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My brand No Rivals was started in 2018, & creative oasis Th3 Mind in 2019. With No Rivals, we have set out to create a movement- focusing on spreading messages of positivity, self-expression, & celebrating creative excellence. We spread this message in clothing through 1of1 hand cut & sewn pieces, as well as limited logo apparel drops or “Movement” pieces- designed to show support of & spread the No Rivals movement we are creating.

In addition, we have a creative oasis “Th3 Mind” our goal is to create a place for all creatives to come for free promotion, networking, resources & services. As well as an “anti-label” No Rivals Records. With the goal of working directly with artists providing services traditionally offered only through a 360 deal (think merch selling, show booking, radio promo, etc.) – but without the soul-selling commitment of a label deal. We also help connect photographers to models, brands or companies that pay for their service, provide helpful “Independent artist how-tos” & a variety of other creative services.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing worth doing isn’t ever easy- we’ve definitely faced trials along the way but with a focus on self-improvement every day- there’s nothing that can keep us down for long.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the No Rivals story. Tell us more about the business.
As far as clothing, we specialize in 1of1 pieces that act as a piece of wearable art.

Each piece has a story that it’s telling- through graphics, Hand painting, silhouettes, or construction/ deconstructed pieces.

We strive to blur the lines between high-end fashion, art & streetwear.

All while staying true to the message that No Rivals was built on.

“Focused on my inner me, no more enemies.”

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The industry is evolving every day – it’s been a blessing to see the idea of sustainability is becoming a focal point for fashion heads.

Luckily we’ve been working towards that goal since day 1 & have put our money where our mouth is by utilizing garments made from recycled materials like plastics- as well as using vintage sourced pieces to deconstruct & remake into fresh new 1of1 pieces.

We’ve only got one Earth – so anything we or our peers can do to improve on the situation is a must.
